What Is Take The Chains
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We are Scott Gibbs and Shannon Cathey of Benton, KY, members of Benton First United Methodist Church. Serving on our church's Worship band, we have experienced first-hand the encouragement and blessings music can give to one's soul.
In 2015, we answered the calling of 1 John 3:17. To begin supporting certain mission outreach programs using the tools and gifts provided by a God who can use all things for good. For us, this was our love for music. Inspired by Matthew West's song "Do Something", we took an old MAC, our instruments, and an SM57 MIC and began the project of writing and producing songs of encouragement and praise, of all different styles, completely free for listening and downloading. Even though we do not have the convenience or the funds for the recording studios of Nashville, we produce our songs to the best of our ability knowing God can and will use them.
But this project isn't about purchasing a cd or song, our music is completely free for all. We only ask in return that you kindly consider contributing to our highlighted mission below. Every dollar that is contributed goes directly to our highlighted mission. Every single dollar! Please consider supporting our cause as we all remember to "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
